I was born and raised in Timmins Ontario and grew up enjoying all that Northern Ontario had to offer. I’ve known from a young age that I wanted to be a veterinarian, and I’ve worked towards a career in veterinary medicine for as long as I can remember. From caring for my family pets, job shadowing at local clinics, to pet sitting for friends and family, I loved working with animals at any given opportunity. After my graduation from École Secondaire Catholique Thériault, I attended the University of Guelph where I completed my BSc. in Animal Biology. During my undergraduate studies, I had the chance to diversify my animal experience as we worked with all livestock species. When I was not learning, I spent two seasons at Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary working as an animal caretaker where rescue, rehabilitation and release was the main goal. Finally, in 2021 I decided I needed some real clinical experience and reached out to the South Porcupine Animal Hospital, where I was welcomed to the family! I learned so much from everyone at the clinic and fell even further in love with veterinary medicine. In this time, I also adopted my first kitten, Bibble, who awoke my love for all cats, no matter their spice level. After working full time with the team and our lovely patients for nearly two years, I decided to set off on the final leg of my DVM journey! In April 2024, I began veterinary school at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts and Nevis, a small island in the Caribbean. After adjusting to island life, I foster failed, and ended up with a little island kitty of my own, Bitsy. In this accelerated program, I will be an accredited veterinarian in just three short years, and will be back home at the South Porcupine Animal Hospital treating your pets in no time!
